Capt. Frank CRESCITELLI


Capt. Frank has been fishing NY Harbor/Raritan Bay for over 30 years, and guiding for the last 12 years, as owner of Fin Chaser Charters, the area’s original full time Fly & Light Tackle guiding business. Specializing in Fly-fishing & Light Tackle Frank and his team of Captains do it all, from back bay for Striped Bass, Blues & Weakfish to offshore fishing in the canyons for Tuna and Marlin & Sharks. Since expanding down the “Jersey Shore” Fin Chaser is the only saltwater, Orvis Endorsed operation in the whole state of New Jersey.

Capt. Frank’s professional affiliations range from, heading up the Regulator Boats fishing Team, to Raymarine Pro Ambassador, to Pro-Staff & field tester for Orvis, Sage, Redington, Tibor, Fin-Nor & Quantum Reels, Evolution rods, Vicious line, Z-man plastics & Optima Battery just to name a few.

All of the work he has done in the past for these other companies prompted Frank to turn his product knowledge and marketing talents into his own tackle company started last year called Guides Choice / Guides Secret Tackle, makers of the absolute strongest and finest made hard baits and custom made cast nets on the market!

Fin Chaser Charters

As one of the most respected and well-known captains in the Northeast, Capt. Frank has guided the who’s who of fishing and has appeared in almost every fishing publication that has ever highlighted this area. Even non-fishing magazines, like Forbes, and the NY Times have covered Frank’s fishing & guiding here in NYC. NY Magazine voted Frank one of the “Top Five Guides In NY”, moreover, a recent Outside Magazine cover topped that with a story titled, “The Worlds Greatest Fishing Guide”. Capt. Frank has become a regular TV fishing celebrity as well, appearing on ESPN, The Today Show, CNBC and Shallow Water Angler and more. As a public speaker he has been giving seminars and talks as part of the Saltwater Sportsman Magazine Seminar Series, Orvis Day’s and American Sportsman Assoc. (ASA) sports shows up and down the East Coast.

Capt. Frank has become a very connected and outspoken conservationist whose passion for protecting the waters is only matched by his love of it. Serving currently as chairman and founding member of the Fishermen’s Conservation Association (FCA) and Co-host of two of the areas largest tournaments, the FCA Manhattan Cup, and FCA Montauk Slam Redbone. Also serving as auctioneer for Redbone tournaments from Buffalo to Islamorada. In 2007 he was presented with the “Orvis Guide Conservationist of the Year Award”, the first ever, saltwater guide to receive this prestigious award.

Frank starting his guiding business specializing in Fly-fishing and light tackle and has won many inshore tournaments in those categories. In the last 5 years or so during the slower summer inshore season, he has focused his attention to the offshore scene and found his newest love, Marlin and Tuna fishing. After winning the White Marlin Invitation in 2004, Frank proved that you could compete with, and beat the bigger battlewagon boats with a well-equipped center console. He and his (now Regulator) “Fin Chaser” have earned its place in the record books as the only center console to ever win that title!
